Dr. Eric Shaw is a Research Scientist working as a Soybean Breeder for Western Canada with Corteva Agriscience, agriculture division of DowDupont. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSc), Master of Science (MSc) in Plant Breeding and Genetics and a PhD in Plant Breeding and Genetics all obtained from the University of Guelph. His doctorate thesis investigated the genetic and biochemical basis of tocopherol accumulation in soybeans.
Targeting Regular Inclusion in Crop Rotations: Soybean Research in Western Canada
Eric’s presentation will concentrate on the soybean breeding efforts from Corteva Agriscience specifically for the Western Canadian environment focusing on the 00 and 000 maturity groups. New products, technologies and germplasm has allowed for world class soybean varieties to be developed and discussions on recent and future developments in those technologies will be highlighted such as advanced phenotyping, disease resistance and protein.
