Dr. Rich Farrell is an Associate Professor in the Department of Soil Science at the University of Saskatchewan, and a Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture Research Chair in Soils & Environment.

Rich holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Resource Development from the University of Rhode Island and a Master’s of Science degree and a PhD in Soil Chemistry from Iowa State University.

His research focus is on nutrient cycling and environmental agronomy, including the effects of agricultural practices on soil quality and greenhouse gas production/mitigation in agroecosystems.
