Maria Trainer is the managing director, science and regulatory affairs, chemistry at CropLife Canada. In this role, Trainer provides technical expertise on a broad range of science and regulatory priorities related to pesticides.
Prior to joining CropLife Canada, Trainer was a biotechnology evaluator for Health Canada. Trainer holds a PhD in bacterial molecular genetics from the University of Waterloo, a master’s degree in biochemistry from Washington State University, and bachelor of science degree from the University of Idaho. In her free time, Trainer is an outdoors enthusiast who loves to ski, cycle, and spend time in the garden.
