Dave Hooker

 

Dr. Dave Hooker is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Plant Agriculture, University of Guelph, and is based at the Ridgetown Campus in Ontario, Canada.

Ridgetown is approximately one-hour East of Detroit. Dave's lab focuses on cropping systems research primarily in corn, soybean and wheat production systems. During the first few years of 2000, Dave along with Dr. Art Schaafsma, developed and marketed the world's first mycotoxin prediction tool in wheat, called DONcast.

Dave's work continues with Fusarium head blight management in wheat, with fungicide screening, variety trials, and fungicide application technologies. In addition to his academic career, Dave also farms 550 acres in southwestern Ontario.
