Dr. Bunyamin Tar'an
Dr. Bunyamin Tar’an is a Chickpea Breeder and Associate Professor at the Crop Development Centre/Department of Plant Sciences, College of Agriculture and Bioresources, University of Saskatchewan.
He completed his Master’s and Doctoral degrees majoring in plant breeding and genetics at the University of Guelph. His research focuses on genetic improvement and variety development of both Kabuli and Desi chickpeas for Western Canada. Bunyamin Tar’an and his team have released several varieties of chickpeas for Canadian growers, and have published more than 80 articles in refereed journals.
He is currently leading several research projects in genomics and breeding of chickpeas.
